Sheri during COVID 2020/2021
The following wonderful initiatives were stopped by Covid-19, in 2020:
- Sheri was appointed by the University of the Free State in 2020, on ad hoc basis, to address learners of different disadvantaged schools, as a motivational speaker.
- Sheri was invited to be the host of a television program of 13 episodes, where she would have interviewed people all over South Africa with relation to Down syndrome.
In 2020 during Covid, Sheri still had the opportunity to do the following advocacy work.
- Sheri played in “Getroud met Rugby” a soapy on channel 144.
- February 2020: Sheri addressed the third-year medical students of the University of the Free State, face to face.
- Sheri addressed an Old Mutual prize-giving function in Klerksdorp before lockdown in 2020.
- Sheri addressed an advanced short course on disability rights, presented by the Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria before lockdown, in 2020.
- Sheri again commenced with her interviews on Med FM after the worst lock downs. Some interviews had to be done virtually.
- Sheri spoke in person in Rustenburg at Rustenburg High School, Rustenburg school for learners with special needs and at an old age home to motivate learners and all people not to give up hope ever.
